Essential Vastu Shastra Tips for New Home Construction
Vastu Shastra is the traditional Indian science of architecture that optimizes wind direction, solar light, and magnetic fields inside living spaces. From a civil engineering perspective, Vastu rules align perfectly with ventilation, thermal comfort, and privacy requirements.
1. Main Entrance Placement (Dwar)
The main door should preferably face **North, East, or North-East**. This allows maximum morning sunlight (rich in Vitamin D and clean spectrum rays) to sanitize the living entry zone. Avoid placing garbage bins or direct drains right outside the entrance.
2. Kitchen Placement (Agni Kona)
The kitchen is associated with the element of fire and should ideally be located in the **South-East** corner of the house. The cook should face East while cooking. South-East placement allows morning air drafts to push kitchen fumes out without filling the bedroom wings.
3. Master Bedroom Placement (Nairutya)
The master bedroom must be built in the **South-West** zone. This area is historically the most stable structure block, shielded from direct morning moisture and heat, ensuring a restful sleep environment.
